We work with businesses, development teams, and public-sector entities to finance, own and operate their solar energy systems. The principal way we do this is through a Power Purchase Agreement —a service contract between SREC and a customer (site-host) where we finance, own, and operate a solar energy system at the customer's location and sell the electricity it generates to the customer over a pre-determined period.

Systems and Renewable Energy Consultants, LLC:

• Finances the entire process—permitting, designing, procuring, installing
• Owns and operates system—covering operations, maintenance, insurance, and monitoring production levels
• Designs and Issues the PPA—identifying contract length terms and providing options to buy-out the system

Customer role:

• Executes agreement
• Provides installation site--shade free roof top(s) or open ground
• Provides access to systems for operations and maintenance

Energy efficiency is the easiest and least expensive way to meet growing energy demand while increasing the proportion of the load that is offset through the use of solar power. Since typical energy efficiency projects have attractive payback periods of five years or less, energy efficient measures can significantly increase property values.

Research completed by the Environmental Protection Agency has shown that a commercial building owner can generate two to three thousand dollars in added asset value for every one thousand dollars invested in energy efficiency.
